Proofreading and bilingual review

Which kind of Arabic translation review do you need?

You already have Arabic content, but need confidence before publishing it. The right review depends on what you want checked: language correctness, clarity and tone, or whether the translation accurately represents its original source.

Discuss your project

Proofreading: a final language check

Proofreading addresses issues such as spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency in the supplied text. It suits a draft whose meaning and overall structure have already been agreed. Share the publication context and any required style conventions.

A text can read smoothly while misrepresenting its source. Reviewing the Arabic alone does not establish translation accuracy; that requires the original and a bilingual comparison.

Editing: improve clarity and tone

Editing can go further into sentence structure, flow, repetition and the language used for the intended audience. A company profile, support article and voice-over script have different reading needs. Agree how much rewriting is appropriate and which approved terms or passages should remain unchanged.

If a proposed edit changes a claim or resolves unclear meaning, it may need your confirmation. A reviewer should not silently invent details simply to make the sentence sound complete.

Bilingual review: compare meaning with the source

For translation review, provide the original text and its corresponding Arabic version. Comparison can identify omissions, additions, inconsistent terms and errors in names, figures, dates or instructions. Reference files and an approved glossary help establish the choices your project requires.

Original illustrative example: the source says ‘Submit the form within 15 days’, but the translation communicates ‘Submit the form after 15 days’. The translated sentence might be grammatically polished, yet the time instruction has changed. Bilingual review addresses this difference; punctuation correction alone cannot resolve it.

Prepare a brief the reviewer can use

Send the current version, intended audience, publication channel and deadline. Make the source-to-translation correspondence clear, especially when several files or revisions exist. Explain whether you need publication-ready wording, a final language check or an accuracy comparison.

  • Include source text for bilingual review.
  • Separate approved terminology from optional references.
  • Flag passages, names or figures that need particular attention.
  • Tell us the required file format and who approves unresolved questions.

Agree corrections and final delivery

Our proofreading service can provide a clean version and, where useful, agreed and supported tracked changes or annotations. Ambiguous wording may be returned as a question for your confirmation. Confirm the review depth and delivery format before work begins.

The same scoping questions apply when an initial draft came from an AI tool. Share the source and intended use rather than assuming machine output needs only a quick polish. Reviewing language does not independently verify every factual claim, and acceptance by an external authority must be assessed separately.

Before you request a quote

Can you review Arabic without its English source?

A monolingual language review is possible. To assess whether an English-to-Arabic translation preserves the source meaning, the original English text is needed.

Should I request proofreading or editing?

Choose a final language check for an agreed draft, or discuss editing when clarity, flow and tone need deeper work. Share a sample so the review level can be confirmed.

Can I see what was changed?

Tracked changes or annotations can be included where useful, agreed and supported by the format. Confirm whether you also need a clean final version and a list of unresolved questions.

Ready to define the scope?

Share the materials and the decisions you have made. We confirm availability, deliverables, price and timing for your actual project.
