Provide an identity spelling, not a guessed transliteration

A name such as محمد may appear as Muhammad, Mohammed or another spelling in Latin letters. None of those examples determines the spelling on a particular person’s identity record. Supply the passport spelling and identify which source fields relate to that person. Explain differences across records so the translator can check consistency and raise questions without silently altering source facts.

Do not crop stamps or omit reverse-side notes

Capture the full document, including margins, seals, signatures, reverse-side entries and attachments. A stamp can carry an issuing authority or later endorsement. A cropped image may remove information needed for a complete translation. Use a well-lit scan or photograph with readable detail, and include all pages in order.

Keep different dates distinct

Birth, marriage, registration and document-issue dates can be different. Tell us where a record uses a Hijri date, Gregorian date or both. Do not replace a source date with your own calculated conversion in the scan. The translation and any explanatory treatment should be agreed for the source and receiving purpose; unclear digits are checked rather than guessed.

How to handle unreadable content or a source discrepancy

Send the clearest available version and disclose known errors or differences. The translator represents the source; correcting the original record is a separate matter for its issuing authority. If something cannot be read, we ask for clarification and agree the appropriate treatment instead of inventing missing content. Keep the source and any clarification available for review.

Questions about this request

Can you use my passport spelling for an Arabic name?

Provide that spelling and explain which source name it corresponds to. We check consistency while representing the source and raise any discrepancy for clarification.

Can a stamp be ignored because it is difficult to read?

Send a clearer version where possible. Relevant content must be considered for a complete translation and unclear text identified appropriately rather than omitted or invented.

Should I edit an incorrect source date before uploading?

Send the source as issued and disclose the discrepancy. Source-record corrections should be handled with the issuing authority; do not silently edit the evidence being translated.
