ARABIC DOCUMENT TRANSLATION
Certified Translation Requirements Across English-Speaking Destinations
An English-language destination does not mean a single certification standard. Use the official checklist for your application, then ask the provider to confirm its actual deliverable. This guide identifies differences that matter when documents are translated in Egypt.
Request a translation quoteUnited States and United Kingdom
USCIS regulation 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) specifies a complete English translation certified for completeness, accuracy and the translator’s competence. The provision itself does not require ATA membership or notarization. UK visitor-visa guidance asks for an independently verifiable full translation with accuracy confirmation, date, full name, signature and contact details. Neither example determines the requirements of every other authority in the country.
Canada: check the immigration programme
IRCC Express Entry instructions define a certified translator as a member in good standing of a professional association in Canada or abroad, with membership indicated by a numbered seal or stamp; they describe a conditional affidavit route where a certified translator cannot complete the translation. The family-sponsorship guide describes Canadian certified translators and an affidavit otherwise. A generic studio stamp is not evidence of the stated association membership. Ask about the exact programme and available professional or affidavit route before ordering.
Australia: practitioner credentials and location
Home Affairs requires English translations of non-English documents. Its guidance distinguishes translators in Australia, who must have NAATI accreditation, from overseas translators and the details required for their work. NAATI credentials can be checked in the official directory. We do not describe a translation as NAATI-certified without a verified practitioner and confirmed delivery arrangement.
New Zealand: residence and visitor documents differ
Immigration New Zealand requires certified English translations for residence applications. Visitor-visa documents generally do not need certified translation except medical and police certificates; full translation and translator details are still required. The official instructions also address who can translate and how certified translations are endorsed. Check the visa category and document rather than assuming every visitor document requires the same certification.
Ireland: where the translation is prepared matters
Irish immigration instructions vary by process. The Join Family visa instructions include certification details and additional attestation or apostille formalities for translations made outside the EEA and Switzerland. A package prepared in Egypt therefore needs the particular programme’s instructions reviewed before any promised delivery route. Citizenship guidance describes a different certification context; it should not automatically be substituted for visa guidance.
Singapore: ICA’s accepted translation routes
ICA specifies official English translations of non-English documents and describes routes involving the issuing-country embassy, notaries, or attestation or notarization of privately prepared translations. ICA says it does not endorse private translation companies. A studio accuracy declaration alone cannot be assumed to fulfil these formalities. Confirm the attestation or notarial route for your case before ordering.
Other destinations and your next step
Other English-speaking destinations and non-immigration recipients set their own requirements. For example, a South African High Commission short-work visa instruction calls for a sworn English translation where relevant; it should not be extrapolated to every South African use. Send the exact checklist, documents, language direction and deadline. We confirm only the translation and additional steps that can actually be delivered. The receiving organisation decides acceptance.
Questions about this request
Can your studio certificate be used in every English-speaking country?
There is no universal certification package. We review the receiving instructions and confirm the deliverable and available additional steps before agreeing the order.
Can I choose NAATI translation without checking the translator?
Verify the practitioner’s current credential and language direction using the NAATI directory. A provider’s generic stamp is not evidence of NAATI status.
Why do two Canadian applications ask for different translation evidence?
Requirements are programme-specific. Use the official checklist for the application being submitted rather than generalising one guide to another.
